Qualifications & Experience
- Full professional qualification from a recognized accounting body.
- Minimum 12 years of experience as a Finance Auditor in a commercial bank or a related financial institution.
- Extensive experience in auditing General Ledger (GL) and Suspense Accounts, reconciliations, quarterly financial statements, and impairment-related processes.
- Thorough knowledge of Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRS) and LKAS.
- Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR).
- Experience in financial operations, accounting controls, and reconciliation processes.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to the banking sector.
- Experience leading audit teams and managing complex audit assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality audit reports based on audit fieldwork findings and risk assessments.
- Review and approve audit programs and risk coverage prepared by audit teams.
- Ensure timely completion of finance-related audits in accordance with the approved audit plan.
- Review planning documentation to ensure all Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) requirements are adequately covered.
- Maintain audit quality standards and ensure proper documentation of audit activities.
- Verify internal control assessments related to finance audits and support external audit requirements.
- Review policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and controls based on audit findings.
- Represent the Internal Audit function in cross-functional meetings, stakeholder discussions, and project engagements.
- Ensure consistency in audit documentation, issue validation, and reporting standards across audit assignments.
