Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Risk Management, Business Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications in Banking, Finance, Risk Management, Accountancy, or a related discipline will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the banking or financial services sector.
- Significant exposure to Risk Management at a senior managerial level.
- Thorough knowledge of risk governance frameworks and enterprise risk management practices.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and financial industry best practices.
- Proven leadership experience in managing risk functions within a financial institution.
- Excellent stakeholder management and strategic decision-making capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the overall Risk Management function of the organization.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework.
- Monitor and manage credit, operational, market, liquidity, compliance, reputational, and strategic risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and other relevant authorities.
- Provide independent risk assessments and strategic recommendations to the Board and Senior Management.
- Promote and strengthen a risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure effective risk reporting, governance practices, and policy formulation.
- Liaise with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders on risk-related matters.
- Support organizational decision-making through proactive risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
