Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, Diploma in Credit Management from a recognized professional institution, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing a credit portfolio in a reputed organization, preferably within the banking or finance industry.
- At least 3 years of experience in approving credit facilities.
- Strong understanding of policies, regulations, and best practices related to granting and managing credit portfolios, including Islamic Finance products.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Tamil language proficiency will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computer systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate credit proposals and provide credit risk opinions, recommendations, and approvals in accordance with Board-approved Credit Policies and Lending Guidelines.
- Oversee all credit risk-related functions and administration of advances within the assigned regional lending portfolio.
- Conduct timely reviews of credit facilities and monitor portfolio performance.
- Ensure a healthy advances portfolio through effective pre- and post-credit portfolio management practices.
- Perform periodic random credit audits to ensure decisions are based on complete and relevant information.
- Monitor regional credit risk functions and maintain portfolio quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance standards throughout the region.
- Support business growth while managing credit risk effectively.
