Qualifications & Experience
- Full or part qualification in Banking and Finance (IBSL) or a Diploma in International Trade Finance from IBSL or a recognized institution.
- Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Trade Services within a banking or financial institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP (latest version), URC 522, Incoterms 2020, URR 725, Foreign Exchange Act, local import and export control regulations, and SWIFT correspondence.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and operational objectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate end-to-end transaction processing, correspondence handling, reconciliation, and reporting related to Import LC Bills, Import Collection Bills, Import Financing Loans, Copy Document Endorsements, and Export Products.
- Oversee operations related to Import Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, import-related outward remittances, and SWIFT operations.
- Supervise Trade Service Desk operations while maintaining high service standards for internal and external customers.
- Manage correspondent banking activities related to financial institution operations.
- Conduct product and transaction reconciliations, including remittance of foreign bank charges.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, internal policies, and international trade practices.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Analyze market trends and recommend service and process improvements.
- Review existing operational processes and recommend re-engineering initiatives to strengthen operational effectiveness and optimize resource utilization.
